The Local Strategic Partnership for Greenwich

The Compact

The Greenwich Compact is an agreement between the public, community, voluntary and faith sectors which will help support the achievement of the visions set out in the Greenwich Strategy.

The Compact includes commitments for action against six codes of practice:

  • Working with volunteers
  • Funding
  • Working with Black and Minority Ethnic groups
  • Consultation and communication
  • Premises
  • Working with community groups

The Compact:

  • Highlights principals and understandings shared between different sectors in Greenwich;
  • Sets out new ways for working in partnership;
  • Contains commitments all parties need to sign up to; and
  • Seeks to encourage and support the voluntary, community and faith sectors.

Implementation of the Compact is being overseen by a Steering Group comprising of partners in the public, voluntary and community sectors.

Ideas for putting the Compact into practice in your organisation might include:

  • Using it to inform the way you engage with public bodies and other sectors;
  • Talking to your partner organisations about how the Compact could be used to improve relationships; Or
  • Appointing a ‘champion’ to promote the Compact throughout your organisation.
